All things cold.

While at a wildlife park here in Nebraska, I looked out upon a lake. It was cold, crisp, and refreshing. Time stood still, and my mind and soul was finally free. With my eyes closed, my thoughts fell inward. The pain of loneliness did slowly drain from my soul, as the cold numbness crept through my limbs. I opened my eyes to this view, but in color. In my mind though, this clearly was a window into my soul. The dull drab greens, browns, and blues of winter faded. These were replaced by the crisp energy found in things black and white. I stole this moment and made it my own, so that when the pain returns, i can reflect back to a moment when the pain was only a memory.
