Turning nothing into something

Ok, so my mother was given a flower basket from a neighbor lady. My mom smiled and placed the basket on the table. In looking at the basket, I'm sure some probably would have considered it a very fine arrangement. However, when I looked at it, I thought it was overdone. An explosion of colors. A mish mash of textures and scents. So many, that one couldn't really truly appreciate one flower, or one scent. The piece was centered though around one large flower. I have no idea what type it is, however amongst the prismatic display of flowers, it just seemed gaudy. The flower itself i thought was pretty, though with so many other colors surrounding it, the petals almost had a cheap cast to them. So, I took a picture of the basket, and decided I would find a way where i could appreciate the one large flower. So, as you can see, I played with photoshop. The majority of this is simply overlaying of the original color on a sepia copy.
